1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the service and provide core functionality.

• Phone number — used for account registration, authentication, and to identify you within RemindWaves.
• Profile information — display name and optional profile picture visible to other users you connect with.
• Contacts access (read) — requested only when you choose to invite contacts. We do not upload, store, or process your contact list on our servers.
• Contacts write permission — requested only if you explicitly choose to save our official contact number into your device contacts; we do not otherwise modify your contacts.
• Notification permission — used to deliver reminders you create or reminders shared with you by followers.

2. How We Use Contact Access

Contact permissions are handled with strict limits:

• We perform a local check on your device when you tap the Invite button to see whether a phone number is registered with RemindWaves.
• This check is performed only on-demand (when you tap Invite); we do not run background scans, uploads, or continuous syncing of your contacts.
• No contact entries or phone numbers are stored on our servers as part of this flow.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Verify registration and manage invitations.
• Schedule and deliver reminders (local device notifications or cloud messaging where applicable).
• Authenticate and securely manage user accounts.

4. Data Storage & Security

We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your data:

• Data is stored on encrypted servers. We deploy access controls and logging to limit access to personal data.
• Where applicable, communications use encryption in transit (TLS).
• We keep only the minimum personal data required for the service to function.
• Our servers are located in India (or in regions compliant with applicable laws). If this changes, we will update this policy.

5. GDPR, DPDP (India) & Your Rights

We aim to provide transparency and control consistent with GDPR principles and the Digital Personal Data Protection laws in India:

• Right to access: You may request a copy of your personal data.
• Right to correction: You may correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to deletion: You may request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Right to withdraw consent: You can revoke permissions (Contacts, Notifications) at any time through your device settings or by contacting us.

6. Account Deletion & Data Removal

To delete your account or request full data removal:

• Email us at support@remindwaves.com with your registered phone number and deletion request.
• After verification, we will permanently delete your account and associated personal data within 7 working days unless retention is required by law.

7. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party providers (for example, cloud messaging providers for notifications). These providers act as processors under contract and are prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.

8. Children’s Privacy

RemindWaves is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal data, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy to reflect operational or legal changes. We will publish the updated policy in the app and on our website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. User Consent to Receive Calls

By using RemindWaves and by providing your contact number, you expressly agree and give your consent to be contacted by RemindWaves, its representatives, or authorized partners via phone calls, SMS, WhatsApp, or other communication channels for purposes including but not limited to: Account verification and onboarding Service-related communication Reminder confirmations or assistance Payment, billing, or wallet-related queries Customer support and issue resolution Product updates, feature information, or service improvements You acknowledge that such calls or messages may be recorded for quality, training, and compliance purposes. You understand that providing this consent is voluntary, and you may withdraw your consent at any time by updating your preferences in the app or by contacting RemindWaves support. Withdrawal of consent may impact certain services that require communication. By continuing to use the RemindWaves platform, you confirm that you are the authorized user of the provided contact number and that you agree to receive communications as described above.
